Ad-dawl: Journal of Islamic Studies is dedicated to advancing academic discourse in the field of Islamic studies by publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed research. The journal’s focus is broad, encompassing various aspects of Islamic thought, culture, and practice, while encouraging interdisciplinary approaches to the study of Islam. The focus of the journal includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:
Islamic Thought and Philosophy: Research exploring the development of Islamic intellectual traditions, including theology, ethics, and philosophy, as well as engagement with modern thought and its challenges.
Islamic Law (Fiqh): Articles that analyze Islamic legal principles, jurisprudence, and the application of Islamic law in diverse contexts, both historical and contemporary.
History of Islam: Studies of the historical development of Islamic civilizations, the rise and fall of Islamic empires, key historical figures, and major events that have shaped the Islamic world.
Social and Cultural Studies: Research on the social, cultural, and political dynamics of Islamic societies, including the role of Islam in shaping identity, gender, politics, and community life.
Islamic Economics and Finance: Scholarly works exploring the principles of Islamic economics, finance, and the role of Sharia in contemporary economic systems.

Peer Review Process
Ad-dawl: Journal of Islamic Studies adheres to a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the publication of high-quality, original research. The review policy is designed to maintain academic integrity, ensure scholarly excellence, and provide a fair and transparent evaluation of submitted manuscripts.
Initial Submission: Upon submission, manuscripts are first reviewed by the journal’s editorial team to assess their relevance to the scope of the journal and ensure they meet basic submission requirements, including formatting, clarity, and originality.
Peer Review Process: If the manuscript passes the initial screening, it is sent for double-blind peer review, where both the identities of the authors and the reviewers are kept confidential. The manuscript is typically reviewed by two or more experts in the field who provide detailed feedback on the quality, methodology, and contribution to the field of Islamic studies. Reviewers assess the originality, depth of analysis, theoretical rigor, and overall relevance of the work.
Reviewer Feedback: Reviewers may recommend one of the following actions:
- Accept without revision
- Accept with minor revisions
- Revise and resubmit (major revisions required)
- Reject
Authors are given the opportunity to revise their manuscript in response to reviewer feedback. In the case of major revisions, the manuscript may undergo a second round of review.
Final Decision: The editorial board makes the final decision on the manuscript based on the feedback from the reviewers and the quality of the revisions made by the authors. Authors are informed of the decision and, if accepted, provided with a publication timeline.
Ethical Guidelines: Ad-Dawl maintains strict ethical standards in the peer-review process, ensuring that all reviews are conducted with fairness, objectivity, and confidentiality. Plagiarism or any form of academic misconduct is not tolerated, and submissions are screened for originality using plagiarism detection tools.
This review policy ensures that only the highest quality academic work is published, contributing to the advancement of Islamic studies through well-researched, thought-provoking, and credible scholarly articles.
Publication Frequency
Ad-dawl: Journal of Islamic Studies follows a regular publishing schedule to ensure timely dissemination of research. The journal publishes articles every 6 months, with 2 issues per year. The typical publishing schedule is as follows:
- January – June Issue: Published in the period from January to June
- July – December Issue: Published in the period from July to December

1. Submission Deadlines:
- January – June Issue: Manuscripts must be submitted by April 30th
- July – December Issue: Manuscripts must be submitted by October 31st
2. Peer Review and Revision Timeline:
- Manuscripts are usually reviewed within 4–6 weeks of submission.
- Authors will be notified of the initial decision, including revision requests, within 2 months.
- Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted within 2 weeks of receiving feedback.
3. Final Publication:
- Accepted manuscripts will be published online upon acceptance, followed by inclusion in the next scheduled print issue.
- This regular schedule helps ensure that the journal remains a timely and reliable source for the latest research in Islamic studies. Authors are encouraged to submit their work well in advance of the submission deadline to facilitate a smooth review and publication process.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Ad-dawl: Journal of Islamic Studies is committed to supporting the dissemination of high-quality research in the field of Islamic studies. To ensure the accessibility of the journal and affordability of publication, we have established the following Author Fee structure:
1. Submission Fee:
Ad-dawl does not charge a submission fee. Authors can submit their manuscripts for peer review free of charge.
2. Article Processing Charge (APC):
Once a manuscript is accepted for publication, authors are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) to cover costs associated with the editorial process, peer review, typesetting, and online publication. The APC is [insert fee amount, e.g., Rp. 300000].
This fee helps ensure that the journal remains open and accessible to readers worldwide. This fee is payable only after the manuscript is accepted for publication.
3. Waivers and Discounts:

Publication Ethics

Our commitment to integrity and transparency extends to all aspects of the publication process, from submission through to final publication. The following ethical guidelines are set forth for authors, reviewers, and the editorial board to uphold the journal's standards:
1. Ethical Guidelines for Authors
Originality: Authors are expected to submit original work that has not been previously published elsewhere. All sources, including data, ideas, and text, must be properly acknowledged. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and duplicate publication are strictly prohibited.
Authorship: All individuals listed as authors must have made substantial contributions to the research and manuscript. Authors should be able to substantiate their role in the research process. Acknowledgement of contributors who do not meet authorship criteria should be made in the acknowledgements section.
Data Accuracy: Authors must ensure that the data presented in their manuscript is accurate and represents their findings honestly. Falsification or manipulation of data is unethical and unacceptable.

Redundant Publication: Authors should not submit manuscripts that are under consideration or have been accepted by other journals. Redundant publication or "salami slicing" (publishing parts of the same research in multiple articles) is not allowed.

Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents. They should not share the content or use the manuscript for personal advantage.
Objectivity: Reviews must be objective and based on the content and scientific merit of the manuscript. Personal criticism of the author(s) is not acceptable. Reviewers should focus on constructive feedback that helps improve the manuscript.
Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should immediately notify the editorial team if they have any conflict of interest with the authors or the content of the manuscript. If there is a conflict, reviewers should recuse themselves from evaluating the submission.
Timeliness: Reviewers are expected to complete their reviews in a timely manner. If unable to review the manuscript within the given timeframe, reviewers should inform the editorial team promptly.
3. Ethical Guidelines for Editors

Conflict of Interest: Editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest with manuscripts under review. If a conflict arises, editors should recuse themselves from making decisions on the manuscript.
Handling of Complaints and Appeals: Editors must handle any complaints or appeals from authors and reviewers with fairness, transparency, and respect. Any issues of misconduct or ethical violations (e.g., plagiarism, data manipulation) will be thoroughly investigated.
4. Publication Ethics for the Journal
