Author Guidelines

General Guidelines for Writers

Submission Format: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.docx) or .rtf files.

Language: Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian, English, or Arabic.

Language Writing Format: For manuscripts in Indonesian or English, use Times New Roman font, size 11, with 1.5 line spacing. For manuscripts in Arabic, use Amiri Quran font, size 12, with 1.15 line spacing.

Paper Size: A4 (210 mm × 297 mm) with margins of top: 2.5 cm, left: 2.5 cm, bottom: 3 cm, and right: 2.5 cm.

Manuscript Length: The manuscript should be 10–20 pages long or approximately 4,000–8,000 words.

Writing Structure: The use of subheadings, bullet points, or numbering is not recommended. The entire manuscript should be written in coherent and integrated paragraphs to ensure a smooth and easy-to-follow flow of discussion.

Figures and Tables: Figures should be presented in line with text, with titles placed below the figures. Tables should have titles above them, a height of 0.7 cm, and the table titles in bold.

Originality: Manuscripts must be original, have not been previously published, and are not under review in any other journal.

Plagiarism: All submitted manuscripts will undergo plagiarism screening. Ensure that all external sources are properly cited and paraphrased.

Madrasah Author Guidelines

  1. Title is written in Trebuchet MS 12 pt, bold, uppercase letters, consisting of 10–20 words, clear, informative, and reflecting the focus of the madrasah field.
  2. Author’s Name must be accompanied by the name of the institution and email address, without including academic titles.
  3. Abstract is written in both Indonesian and English. It should consist of one paragraph (150–250 words) and include the research objectives, methods, findings, and keywords (3–5 words).
  4. Introduction contains an explanation of the context and urgency of the research in the field of education. It includes background, objectives, relevance, novelty, research gap, and contribution to knowledge and practice.
  5. Method is the section that systematically details the procedures used in conducting the research, including data collection, analysis, and conclusion drawing.
  6. Results and Discussion present the main findings and interpretations, supported by tables or descriptions, and linked to theories and previous studies.
  7. Conclusion provides a summary of the main findings and their implications for educational science.
  8. References must include at least 15 sources (13 journal articles and 2 books), preferably within the last 10 years.
  9. Reference and Footnote Writing must follow Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (Full Note/Footnote) using Zotero. The first citation is full; subsequent citations are shortened. Op.Cit. and Loc.Cit. are not used.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The manuscript has not been previously published and is not currently under consideration for publication in any other journal. If any special circumstances exist, they must be explained in the “Comments to the Editor” section.

  2. The manuscript file must be submitted in one of the following formats: Microsoft Word (.docx) or RTF.

  3. If available, URLs or DOIs for all references have been provided.

  4. The manuscript uses 1.5 line spacing with a 11-point font size. Italic formatting is used only for foreign terms or for specific emphasis, not for the entire manuscript. Underlining is not permitted, except for URLs. Bold formatting may be used sparingly, particularly for titles or section headings. All figures, tables, and illustrations must be embedded within the text at appropriate positions, rather than placed at the end of the manuscript.

  5. The manuscript adheres to the writing guidelines and citation style specified in the Author Guidelines under the “About the Journal” section.

  6. For manuscripts submitted to peer-reviewed sections of the journal, the author must ensure that the manuscript is prepared in accordance with the principles of blind review , meaning that all author-identifying information has been removed from the manuscript file.
